Miramar Real Estate Investment Properties

Originally part of Scripps Ranch, Miramar is a small neighborhood that includes commercial, residential, and industrial areas throughout. It offers a central location to many of attractions in both North County and Downtown San Diego.

Miramar is one of the smallest neighborhoods in San Diego County with a population of about 2,200 residents. Most of these residents live on the Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, a fixed wing and helicopter base for the Marine Corps. You can expect mainly military personnel and their families in Miramar.

Restaurants and Attractions in Miramar

Despite its small size, Miramar offers plenty of attractions and eateries within its own bounds and in surrounding neighborhoods. Head to the Torrey Pines Gliderport to see some amazing sunset views and frequent paragliders. To get back to nature, visit the Torrey Pines State Natural Preserve, a coastal state park covering over 2,000 acres comprising a plateau and a lagoon. The preserve is home to a wide range of flora and fauna.

For food, Miramar and its surrounding area offers a diverse range of flavors and dishes to satisfy all appetites. Supernatural Sandwiches started as a farmer’s market stand before upgrading to a full storefront. A sandwich shop that combines seafood with Asian Fusion, Supernatural Sandwiches features a creative, pleasing menu, whether you want Korean beef, lobster, or shrimp.

If you want classic Indian cuisine, Ashoka the Great is just what you need, specializing in tandoori dishes along with plentiful vegan and vegetarian choices with a lunch buffet. Philadelphia Sandwich Co. offers authentic cheesesteaks and hoagies served the Philly way with Cheez Whiz (though real cheese is also available).

You can’t live anywhere in San Diego without some good beers, and Miramar is no exception. Ballast Point Brewing Company features a huge selection of custom brews, from year-round staples to limited runs. Enjoy some tasty beers along with some delicious pub food, which includes burgers, ribs, corned beef, lobster rolls, and more. World renowned, Alesmith Brewing Company always has great year-round beers and seasonal favorites on tap in a huge tasting room with rotating food trucks from the area, ensuring that you’ll always have a great time.

Schools in Miramar

The neighborhood features just one private school, Mira Mesa Christian School, within its bounds. Thankfully, if you are looking for something different, you can easily find a variety of schools in neighboring areas. Most of the public schools in nearby neighborhoods are served by the San Diego Unified School District.

The two closest public elementary schools are Miramar Ranch Elementary School and Jerabek Elementary School, both of which are highly regarded. Nearby middle schools include Marshall Middle School, Wangenheim Middle School, and Challenger Middle School. For high school, students may attend Mira Mesa High or Scripps Ranch High.
